Scott County

Work to construct the Scott City interchange in Scott County kicked-off in July 2017. As construction is underway, the Route PP overpass bridge over Interstate 55 will be closed. The Route PP overpass will be replaced with a wider, three-lane bridge to accommodate turning movements for the new interchange. The project includes constructing a new roadway from Route 61 at Kelso to the overpass bridge. The interchange will provide access to south Scott City, as well as a connection from Interstate 55 to Kelso. The project will also relieve congestion at the Route 61/K/M/I-55 interchange.

Route 77 in Scott County will be closed as contractor crews replace the bridge over the North Cut Ditch, just north of Diehlstadt, Missouri. This section of roadway is located between County Road 525 and County Road 352. Weather permitting, work will be underway Monday, July 1 through Friday, Oct. 18. There will be a signed detour to take Route D to Route N to Route NN back to Route 77/62.

Route 61 in Scott County will be reduced with a 10-foot width restriction as contractor crews overlay the roadway and add rumble strips.  This section of roadway is located from Route 77 in Morley to Greer Street near Scott City.  Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, June 10 through Friday, Oct. 11 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Routes AA in Scott and New Madrid Counties will be reduced with an 8-foot width restriction as contractor crews mill and overlay the roadway.  This section of roadway is located from Route 62 in Miner, Missouri to Route 80 in Matthews, Missouri. Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Sept. 23 through Sat., Oct. 19 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Route N in Scott County will be reduced to one lane as contractor crews replace a box culvert.  Travelers can expect various lane closures, with the use of temporary traffic signals.  This section of roadway is located just east of Route K near Scott City, Missouri.  Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Nov. 15

Route 61 in Scott County will be closed as contractor crews perform pavement repairs. This section of roadway is located from Messmer Street to Route PP south of Kelso, MO. Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Oct. 7 and Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Contractor crews will repair the pavement at the Interstate 55/57/U.S. 60 cloverleaf interchange in Sikeston, Missouri, located at mile marker 66 in Scott County. As work is underway, motorists should anticipate ramp closures with signed detours available.

Ramp closures will include:

  • The ramp from northbound I-55 onto northbound I-57 will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 through 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, weather permitting.
  • The ramp from northbound I-57 onto northbound I-55 will be from 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 through 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, weather permitting.
  • The ramp from southbound I-55 onto northbound I-57 will be closed from 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 through 7 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, weather permitting.
  • The ramp from northbound I-55 onto westbound US 60 will be closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 through 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, weather permitting.
  • The ramp from southbound I-57 onto southbound I-55 will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 through 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28 weather permitting.
