Scott County

Work will soon get underway for intersection improvements at U.S. 61 and Malone Avenue in Sikeston, Missouri. Weather permitting, work will begin Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 with completion anticipated by Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023. During the first phase of intersection improvements, the right turn lanes will be closed to allow work on the light bases. The current traffic signals will remain in use as new concrete bases are poured and new signal equipment is installed. This project also includes upgrading the sidewalks at this intersection. Additional information detailing impacts to traffic will be released as work progresses. The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area. 

North and Southbound Interstate 55 in Scott County will be reduced to one lane with an 11-foot width restriction as contractor crews perform roadside work.  This section of roadway is located from Interstate 57 near Miner, Missouri to Route 77 near Benton, Missouri. Weather permitting, work will begin at 7 a.m. Monday, May 8 with completion anticipated Sunday, Oct. 1 at 4 p.m.  

Route 77 in Scott County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as Contractor crews perform bridge repairs.  This section of roadway is located from County Road 248 to High Street near Oran, Missouri. Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, May 22 through Friday, July 7 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.    

Business 60 in Scott County will be reduced to one lane as contractor crews improve sidewalks in Sikeston, Missouri. This project is part of the Missouri Department of Transportation’s initiative to bring roadway facilities into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This section of roadway is located between East Street and Maple Street. Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, June 19 through Friday, July 14 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
