Work to rehabilitate the Interstate 55 bridges over Route 62 at Miner, Missouri is slated to begin Monday, May 9, weather permitting. As construction is underway, motorists should anticipate head-to-head traffic with a 10-foot width restriction on I-55 from Exit 66B to Exit 69. In addition, Route 62 will be reduced to two lanes with a 10-foot width restriction from Matthews Lane to North Interstate Drive. The Route 62 ramp onto northbound I-55 will be closed during construction. Work to rehabilitate the northbound I-55 bridge will begin Monday, May 9, with completion anticipated Friday, Dec. 2, weather permitting. Work to rehabilitate the southbound I-55 bridge is expected to begin in 2023. The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
Missouri Route M in Scott County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as contractor crews construct sidewalks and update the existing signals with pedestrian features. This section of roadway is located from Wheeler Street to Crites Street in Scott City, Missouri. A section of Business 61 will also be reduced to one lane from the overpass to the Route M intersection. Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, July 18 through Thursday, Dec. 1. Flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone as construction is underway. This project is part of the Missouri Department of Transportation’s initiative to bring roadway facilities into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
