Route A in Cape Girardeau County will be closed as contractor crews replace the bridge over Whitewater River. This section of roadway is located between County Road 253 and Walnut Street in Whitewater, Missouri. Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, June 5 with completion anticipated Wednesday, Nov. 1 with work taking place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Route 72 in Cape Girardeau County will have a 12-foot width restriction as contractor crews work on the shoulder to install roadside lighting. Weather permitting, work will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Work will be in place at the following locations in Jackson, Missouri:
- East Lane to Daisy Avenue beginning Monday, June 26 through Monday, July 3
- West Main to Missouri Street beginning Monday, July 3 through Tuesday, July 11
- Michael Anna Street to Daisy Avenue beginning Monday, July 10 through Monday, July 17
