Operator Alert System

Submitted by: Southeast District

Innovation Description and Benefit:

The Operator Alert System is a remote-controlled strobe light that can be activated by a spotter to alert the equipment operator of dangers that may be approaching. The alert system is currently mounted on a John Deere sickle. When the operator is on the sickle, he can now be alerted of any approaching dangers by the person in the follow truck. Due to wearing ear plugs while on the tractor you aren’t able to hear a handheld radio.  This can also be used on other pieces of equipment that don’t have the capabilities of using a radio. This system is designed to work up to 0.9 miles.
