Innovation Description and Benefit:

Type IL cement, fly ash (Class C and F), and slag cement are key components in concrete, each with unique properties and chemical indicators that help identify their presence. Leveraging these indicators enables rapid diagnosis of pavement issues, saving time and reducing costs by allowing in-house testing and avoiding external lab shipments. This streamlined method improves safety, requires minimal equipment, and eliminates the need for expensive instrumentation. Results can be quickly shared with inspectors to prevent project delays, and the model can be adopted by other DOTs and municipalities for efficient concrete performance evaluation.
