Project Overview:

This project included the removal and replacement of the bridge Missouri Route 87 bridge over Interstate 70 in Cooper County near Boonville. Additional grading, drainage, and paving construction also took place to align Route 87 and the I-70 interchange ramps with the new bridge.

Cost:

The total cost is approximately $5 million.

Why was this work necessary?

The Route 87 bridge over I-70 was constructed in 1958. The condition of the old bridge was beyond what regular MoDOT maintenance could address. The new bridge was built to accommodate any future widening or rebuilding of I-70. This required the bridge, ramp, and roadway grades to be raised by as much as two feet. As a result, additional grading, drainage, and pavement construction are necessary.
