Project Overview:

The contractor for the Missouri Department of Transportation is making safety improvements on U.S. Route 54 south of Jefferson City.

The improvements will take place on eastbound and westbound Route 54 between the Stadium Boulevard intersection in Jefferson City and the Miller County line. Work will require intermittent day and overnight lane closures in both directions.

Crews will start by installing guardrails and guard cables along Route 54. The new guard cable and guardrail along this heavily traveled section of Route 54 will help ensure motorist safety.  The second phase of the project, which is expected to begin in the next few weeks, will include pavement improvements along the same stretch of roadway.

The project is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2020.
