Route 54 Traffic to be Impacted Next Week in Cole County

COLE COUNTY – Traffic using U.S. Route 54 next week will be impacted by the next phase of a large resurfacing and guard cable installation project in Cole County.

A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin sealing the shoulders of Route 54 and will continue installing the median guard cable next week, between Jefferson City and Eugene.

This work will require daily lane closures on eastbound and westbound Route 54. Signs will guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists are asked to plan extra travel time, slow down and watch for crews in work zones.

The project is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2020.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
