Route 54 Interchange Ramps to Temporarily Close in Jefferson City for Resurfacing

JEFFERSON CITY – Resurfacing work will begin on U.S. Route 54 interchange ramps next week in Jefferson City, as part of a large resurfacing and guard cable installation project in Cole County.

Starting the night of Tuesday, July 28, a contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will be resurfacing the Route 54 ramps at the Ellis Boulevard interchange. Crews will then begin resurfacing work on the Route 179 interchange ramps. The phase of the project is scheduled to be complete by Friday, July 31.

The ramps located at the Route 17 interchange will undergo resurfacing from August 3- 6. Crews will also resurface the acceleration and deceleration lanes at that interchange.

This work will require intermittent overnight ramp closures. Signs will alert motorists of the closures and travelers are asked to seek alternate routes. MoDOT encourages drivers to watch for work zones, slow down and avoid distractions.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
