Project Summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation has a plan to address deficient infrastructure along Route 67 (Lindbergh Blvd.) between Missouri Route 367 and Interstate 270. The project includes three separate projects that will resurface the existing roadway, replace or rehabilitate bridge surfaces within the corridor, and make updates to the corridor's pedestrian infrastructure to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Some sections of sidewalk will be replaced to meet slope or width requirements; other sidewalk will be added to create connections for mobility; still others will be replaced in conjunction with the replacement of the aging traffic signals at various intersections.

The three separate Route 67 projects are:

Detailed information on the projects can be found by clicking on the name of each project or each tab at the top of the page.

What will be the impact to traffic?

Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal during sidewalk, entrance, and traffic signal construction. Work will be performed by phasing the sidewalk and entrance construction first with minimal impacts to traffic. Temporary lane closures and traffic shifts may be necessary to facilitate this work.

Once the sidewalk and signal work are complete, paving operations are expected to be done overnight during off-peak hours. Temporary lane closures and traffic shifts may be necessary to facilitate this work.

Bridge construction will be completed one side at a time so at least one lane of traffic in each direction can remain open for the duration of the project. Contractors will be incentivized to minimize the length of their construction at each location to minimize impacts to traffic using Lindbergh Blvd.  Bridge work will be performed one bridge at a time to avoid multiple lane drops or shifts at the same time within the Lindbergh Blvd. corridor.

Is MoDOT purchasing property from landowners?

In order to add the desired sidewalk connections and make necessary improvements, there will be instances when MoDOT will need to obtain a temporary easement or acquire permanent property rights. In these situations, MoDOT will reach out to landowners in a variety of ways and at multiple times in the project's life cycle to inform you of your rights and our needs. This will be the case along the Lindbergh Blvd. corridor.

How much will the project cost?

Estimated project costs are as follows:

  • Route 67 - from Route 367 to New Halls Ferry: $10 million
  • Route 67 - from New Halls Ferry to I-270: $11.3 million
  • Route 67 Bridge Rehabilitations: $7.9 million
