Project Summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), working with its consultant Oates & Associates, is preparing for pavement, safety, and shoulder improvements of 6.7 centerline miles of Route 47 in Lincoln County from 0.3 miles west of the Route H/J intersection in Troy to the Route A/D intersection in Hawk Point in Lincoln County.   An environmental evaluation has been conducted to determine a viable design solution for this area. 

This project will be completed in an effort to improve safety and the overall condition and efficiency of the corridor. The proposed work includes the realignment of curves as select locations, the addition of paved shoulders, intersection improvements and pavement resurfacing.

How much does the project cost?  

Approximately $18-20 million

What are the anticipated impacts?  

Construction details have not been finalized at this time. MoDOT will work with residents and business owners to ensure access is available during construction.

Will the road be closed during construction? 

Customers can anticipate temporary traffic impacts throughout the project.  A few full closures of Route 47 will be necessary to complete the improvements. MoDOT will make every reasonable effort to minimize the closure time during construction. More information regarding traffic impacts will be shared through news releases and social media for each stage of construction as details become available.

Will MoDOT need to acquire any right of way?  

Yes. In 2024, MoDOT's Right of Way staff and consultants will beginning the process of contacting property owners for any necessary right of way needed for the project. Right of way discussions are anticipated to continue through Fall 2025.
