OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition - MicroStation Fundamentals

For new MicroStation users, this course builds a solid foundation in the concepts of MicroStation and use of its tools and features. Interspersed throughout are real-world MoDOT design problems solved using the concepts learned to that point in the course.

Topics covered:

Mouse functions, View manipulation and control, Drawing tool usage and application, Precision input using Accudraw and Snaps, Modifying and manipulating design elements, Design file setup using seed files, Overview of MicroStation’s design plane and working units, Navigating within the 2D and 3D design file, Element attributes including levels, Text placement and manipulation, Element selection and fence operations, Recovering from mistakes, Working with cells and other complex elements, Element construction techniques, Reference file operations, Area patterning, Annotating and dimensioning the design, Drawing to MoDOT Standards.

OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition - Survey

Course will cover the essential tools for importing existing field survey data into PowerGEOPAK for generating existing terrain models needed in the development of a highway design and for quantity calculations during the project’s construction phase.

Conceptstation

This software will provide an enhanced ability to estimate quantities and develop preliminary design concepts on projects that you want to take a little farther than normal. Some of the nice features are: the ability to easily download aerial photography and terrain for the project area, ability to import GIS data, ability to export alignments and profiles for use in GEOPAK as the starting point for design work and a visualization model is produced automatically.

MoDOT users email CADD Support to install ConceptStation.

Introduction to ArcGIS

This three-day course introduces participants to ArcGIS and provides the foundation for becoming a successful user of ArcMap and MoDOT data. The course covers fundamental GIS concepts as well as how to create, edit, and work with georeferenced spatial data. Participants learn how to manipulate tabular data, query a GIS database, and present data clearly and efficiently using maps and charts.

Goals:

• Work with spatial data on MoDOT servers

• Display feature and tabular data in ArcMap

• Query the data for feature locations and information

• Find features using location and spatial relationships

• Edit spatial and attribute data to meet project requirements

• Join and relate tables to enhance data
