Section 6 of I-70 is a 27-mile stretch in eastern Missouri from approximately US Highway 54 at Kingdom City to Route 19 right before Montgomery City.
Though mainly a rural area, Section 6 is also home to Kingdom City, a smaller urban community as well as a busy interstate exit and travelers' stop.
Begin: Kingdom City, West of U.S. 54, Exit 148
End: Montgomery City, West of Route 19, Exit 175
Length: 27 miles
Study: Environmental Assessment (EA)
It also includes important regional cultural and environmental considerations such as Graham Cave State Park, the Graham Homestead, and "Picnic" Rock, a large sandstone outcropping in the center of the I-70 median. The Improve I-70 Study will work to find the improvement solution that best addresses the different needs of this varied community.
