MoDOT is looking into the best way to replace the narrow and aging Route 160 bridge over Bull Shoals Lake at Theodosia, Missouri in Ozark County. This bridge was built in 1951. While the existing bridge is safe to use, it is deteriorating and nearing the end of its useful life. If it isn’t replaced, it will face years of maintenance causing impacts to the traveling public. A detour due to a full closure of the bridge would be 50 miles (using Route 95 and Route 5).

The study is looking at ways to build a new bridge while keeping the existing bridge open. The goal of the study is to perform an alternatives analysis and develop an environmental document, which will include the preferred way to construct the new bridge.
