Project Information

These projects are on Missouri Highway 1 (NE Antioch Road) from Missouri Route 152 south to NE 42nd Street.

The projects include the improvements below:

  • Pavement rebuild between NE 64th Street to NE 72nd Street
  • Pavement resurfacing between MO Route 152 to NE 72nd Street and between NE 42nd Street to NE 64th Street
  • Replacement of deficient curb and gutter from 64th Street to I-35
  • Slope stabilization on the west side between NE 43rd Street to NE 42nd Street
  • New pedestrian connection under I-35 from NE 44th Street to NE 43rd Street

Timeline

  • Work between MO Route 152 and NE 72nd Street will be advertised fall of 2024 and is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2025.
  • Work between NE 72nd Street and I-35 will be advertised May 2025 and will be complete by the end of 2026.
  • Work between I-35 and NE 42nd Street will be advertised fall of 2027 and with work anticipated to be complete summer of 2028.

How will this Project impact Motorists?

The posted speed limit will be reduced during construction.  

  • For the rebuild between NE 64th Street and NE 72nd Street, traffic will be reduced to one lane at all times in each direction during construction.
  • Pavement Resurfacing operations will be constructed during off-peak hours with lane closures and flaggers.
  • Slope stabilization and sidewalk work will be constructed on the shoulders with minor encroachments.

  • Approx. $24 million

A public meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, located at Northland Neighborhoods INC, 5340 Chouteau Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64119.
