Lane closures on MO 1 between 64th St and I-35 for pavement reconstruction, March 1 - Fall 2026

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting various traffic modifications on Missouri Route 1 between just south of 64th Street and Interstate 35 for pavement reconstruction. All work is weather permitting.

See below for traffic modifications: 

  • The NB lanes of MO 1 will be moved over to the SB lanes in a head-to-head configuration with one through lane in each direction on Sunday, March 1 until Wednesday, April 1.
  • Intermittent lane closures on MO 1 just south of 64th St. to I-35, ONGOING until Fall 2026. 
  • EB 64th St. will be reduced to one lane across MO 1, ONGOING until Fall 2026.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
