Traffic Alert: Bridge work at Prospect Ave. over I-70 continues next week, July 17-21

 

JACKSON COUNTY –  MoDOT is in the process of replacing the Prospect Ave. bridge over Interstate 70. This work will require the following traffic changes the week of July 17-21. This bridge has reached the end of its service life necessitating its replacement. The project also includes improvements to the interchange ramps and 14th Street. During construction, Prospect Ave. over I-70 will be closed and motorists will need to seek alternate routes. All work is weather permitting.

Monday, July 17 through Friday, July 21

  • Beginning at approximately 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily, on Monday, July 17, through Friday, July 21, crews will CLOSE one lane of eastbound I-70 at Prospect Ave. for drilled shaft operations.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
