Planned Road Work for Northwest Missouri, Dec. 23 - 29

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in the Northwest Missouri region for the week of Dec. 23 – 29.

The majority of construction work zones will not be in place from noon Wednesday, Dec. 24 until the morning of Friday, Dec. 26. However, some work zones have closures that are unable to be reopened for the holiday. If a work zone is listed below for Dec. 23 – 26, please note there will be no work in that area on Dec. 25. MoDOT reminds the public to buckle up, slow down, eliminate distractions and drive with extreme caution through work zones.

Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. There may also be moving operations throughout the region such as pothole patching, striping, signal work, etc., in addition to the work mentioned below.

Andrew County

Route E – Drainage work at County Road 316, Dec. 23

Atchison County

Route 111 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Mill Creek Bridge near Corning. The bridge will remain closed until spring 2020.

Carroll County

Route C – CLOSED until further notice at the Branch of Turkey Creek Bridge due to damage from flooding. A project to replace the bridge is scheduled to be a part of the February 2020 letting.

U.S. Route 65 – Bridge maintenance at the Shootman Creek Bridge and Mound Creek Bridge, Dec. 23 – 27

Route V – Bridge maintenance at the Miami Station Branch Bridge, Dec. 23 – 27

Chariton County

U.S. Route 24 – Bridge replacement project at the Mussel Fork River and Overflow Bridges west of Keytesville through early 2020. Traffic is being diverted over a one-lane, signalized bypass during the replacement of the Mussel Fork River Overflow Bridge. A 10-foot width restriction is in place.

U.S. Route 24 – Bridge replacement project at the Middle Fork Chariton River and Overflow bridges through early 2020. These bridges are part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program. Traffic will be directed through the work zone with temporary traffic signals. A 10-foot width restriction is in place.

Daviess County

Route B – CLOSED for bridge reconstruction at the I-35 overpass. The contractor is waiting on materials to complete work on the bridge. Until the work is completed, the bridge will remain closed. More info: https://www.modot.org/clinton-and-daviess-county-bridge-deck-replacements-over-i-35

Holt County

Route T – CLOSED until further notice at Mill Bluff Road due to roadway damage

Route 111 – Resurfacing project from Route T to U.S. Route 59

Linn County

U.S. Route 36 – Concrete replacement from Route 5 to Route F, Dec. 23 – 24

U.S. Route 36 – Pothole patching from the Macon County line to Route 139, Dec. 23 – 24

Nodaway County

Route 246 – Patching from Route E to Route 46 (Worth County), Dec. 23

Route 46 – Pothole patching from Maryville to Route 113, Dec. 24

Route AF – Pothole patching, Dec. 24

U.S. Route 136 – Drainage work from Keystone Road to the One Hundred and Two River Bridge, Dec. 23 – 24

Route 46 – Pothole patching from Route W to U.S. Route 169 (Worth County), Dec. 26 – 27

Sullivan County

Route PP – CLOSED until further notice at the East Medicine Creek Bridge after a regularly scheduled inspection revealed critical deterioration to the structure. Worth County

Route YY – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Middle Fork of the Grand River. The bridge is part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program.
