A routine inspection revealed critical deterioration to the structure and it was closed for the safety of all motorists.
MoDOT has contracted with Burns and McDonnell to design a new structure to replace the current bridge over the Middle Fork of the Grand River on Route YY in Worth County.
At this time, some additional right of way on the southeast corner of the bridge will need to be acquired for the project.
The project is currently scheduled to be bid on and awarded in the fall of 2019. The project was accelerated as part of Governor Parson's Focus on Bridges program.
The contract's notice to proceed date for the contractor is November 4, 2019.
The date the contractor must be completed with all work, by contract, is December 1, 2020.
