PHASE 2 (2026)
I-70 at Benton Blvd ("Benton Curve")
Description: Reconstruction of I-70 at Benton Blvd ("Benton Curve") to bring it up to current design standards.
Status: Under Construction
Traffic Impacts:
- Benton Ave. CLOSED between Truman Rd. and 13th St. until Summer 2027. The I-70 WB on-ramp will remain open for Benton Ave. southbound travelers. Detour: use 13th St. Indiana Ave. and Truman Rd.
- Intermittent lane closures on I-70
Estimated Completion: Fall 2027
Cleveland Ave. over I-70
Description: Bridge replacement and upgraded pedestrian facilities on Cleveland Ave. over I-70
Status: Not started; closing for replacement on Feb. 9, 2026.
Traffic Impacts:
- Full closure of Cleveland Ave. over I-70
- Intermittent lane/ramp closures on I-70
- MOTORIST DETOUR: utilize 23rd St., Indiana Ave., and 27th St.
- PEDESTRIAN DETOUR: utilize 24th St. Ter., the 25th St. pedestrian bridge, Askew Ave., 26th St., Monroe Ave., and 27th St.

27th St. over I-70
Description: Bridge replacement and upgraded pedestrian facilities on 27th St. over I-70
Status: Closed
Traffic Impacts:
- Full closure of 27th St. over I-70
- Ramps closed from I-70 EB to 27th St. and from 27th St. to I-70 WB
- Intermittent lane closures on I-70
- DETOUR: utilize Cleveland Ave., 31st St., and Jackson Ave.

I-70 at Jackson Ave. ("Jackson Curve")
