52: Mud Jack Nozzle Stabilizer

Submitted by: Southeast District

Innovation Description and Benefit:

The Mud Jack Nozzle Stabilizer is a C-Channel with a notch in the front to keep the Nozzle in place while mud jacking.  A vehicle is placed in the channel to keep pressure down and it is very stable. You can find this kind of material in MoDOT sheds, where it is not used anymore.  Also, it saves money because we don’t have to bring a loader or backhoe to the work zone to keep the nozzle pushed down in place.  It simplifies work and improves safety, by removing extra equipment on the bridge/work zone around us.
