51: John Bean Sprayer - Conversion

Submitted by: Southwest District

Innovation Description and Benefit:

Before this innovation, we were having to gas up a gas-powered motor up in the back of a dump truck.  The John Bean Sprayer – Conversion consisted of replacing a gas-powered motor with a hydraulic motor that is driven off the hydraulics of the truck. This unit is used in several different ways such as weed and brush control and removing salt and rock off our bridges top and bottom. After loading the bean-sprayer in the back of our HD or XHD trucks that already have hydraulics available you hook up two hoses from the sprayer to the truck.
