SIKESTON - The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing regarding improvements to Route 67 from the existing four-lane to a mile south of the Route 160/158 intersection. The public hearing will be held at Hillview School, 11001 Route 160, on April 2.
The meeting will have an open-house format, meaning that visitors can stop by to talk one-on-one with a member of the project team anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. No formal presentation will be given.
"This is the second public hearing that we have held about these improvements to Route 67 south of Poplar Bluff," said Project Manager Eric Krapf. "Based on the input received at the last hearing, subsequent meetings with property owners, as well as examining possible social, economic and environmental effects, we have revised the plan. The revised realignment of Route 67 is the best possible plan based on these factors. "
At the hearing, the project team will share this plan with the public and receive input.
