Project Milestones
About the Project
The bridge over Big Creek on MO Route 7 is nearing the end of its service life and is scheduled to be replaced. The bridge is located just north of Raffurty Road and just south of 1st Street in Pleasant Hill. This project will require the closure of MO 7 during construction and impacts to the Rock Island Trail. As part of the project, MoDOT will make the following improvements:
- Upgrade the aging infrastructure of the bridge.
- Increase the vertical clearance to a standard clearance height.
- Improve the safety of the traffic over the bridge.
Construction will take place on MO Route 7 from MO Route 291 to MO Route 58.
Construction and Potential Traffic Impacts
Construction is anticipated to take place in spring 2025 through the end of 2026. During construction, MO Route 7 will be CLOSED from MO Route 291 to MO Route 58.
Detour Route
Motorists are encouraged to use MO Route 58 and MO Route 291 during construction.
Impacts to the Rock Island Trail
The Rock Island Trail will be closed under the bridge and throughout the project area from MO Route 58 to MO Route 291.
Trail Detour
The detour for the Rock Island Trail closure during construction will be to access and utilize the trail from MO Route 58 to Purvis Road.
Estimated Cost and Funding
The project is currently estimated to cost? This is not a cost share, correct?
The project let in Nov. 2025 with completion scheduled for the end of 2026.
