MoDOT to host public meeting regarding replacement of MO 7 Bridge over Big Creek & Rock Island Trail

A public meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 11 at Pleasant Hill High School.

CASS COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a public meeting regarding the replacement of the Missouri Route 7 Bridge over Big Creek and the Rock Island Trail in Cass County.

The truss-style bridge over Big Creek and the Rock Island Trail on MO Route 7 (Dr. Fred L. Seevers Memorial Bridge), built in 1948, is nearing the end of its service life and is scheduled to be replaced with a girder-style bridge. The bridge is located just north of Raffurty Road and just south of 1st Street in Pleasant Hill.

The public meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11 in the commons area of Pleasant Hill High School, located at 1 Rooster Way, Pleasant Hill, MO 64080.  Attendees should enter through the front doors of the high school.

Construction is anticipated to take place from spring 2026 through the end of 2026. During construction, MO Route 7 will be closed from MO Route 291 to MO Route 58. Motorists are encouraged to use MO Route 58 and MO Route 291 during construction. The Rock Island Trail, under the bridge, will be intermittently closed during key stages of construction.

Please note that this is an open house-style meeting, and no formal presentations will be made. Those interested can attend the meeting anytime between the advertised hours to ask questions, learn more about the project, and leave comments. There will also be an option to leave comments online, beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday,  Aug. 11 until 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25. The online comment period will be available on the project webpage.
