Project Facts:

  • Replace Missouri Route 413 (Sunshine Street) bridge over MNA Railroad in Springfield
  • Add/improve pedestrian facilities on both sides of roadway from Scenic Avenue to Marion Avenue

Construction: Bridge Closure begins August 4, 2025

Estimated total project cost: $5,888,000

Completion Date: 4 months after the bridge closure

Bridge Facts:

  • Bridge built in 1963
  • Bridge carries 26,164 vehicles a day
  • Old bridge 65 feet wide, 158 feet long

Traffic Impacts:

  • MO 413 (Sunshine St) CLOSED from east of Scenic Avenue to west of Marion Avenue for up to 4 months during construction
  • Detour: James River Freeway, Kansas Expressway, Chestnut Expressway, and US 160
  • All businesses will have access. Some access may be from Scenic Ave and not Sunshine Street during construction.
  • Westbound Kansas Exp. will have a single lane open to businesses with a traffic shift
  • Eastbound Sunshine will have a single-lane closure but will have access to north and southbound Scenic Ave
