Springfield—Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) Bridge closure over MNA Railroad in Springfield has been postponed. A bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin Monday, March 17, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The bridge was scheduled to close on Monday, March 17, and is POSTPONED due to construction delays. A news release, social media posts and message boards by the bridge will announce the new closure date in the near future. The bridge replacement will require Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) over MNA Railroad to be CLOSED for up to four months to allow contractor crews to replace the bridge and add/improve pedestrian facilities on both sides of the roadway from Scenic Avenue to Marion Avenue.
Traffic impacts during construction:
- Route 413 (Sunshine Street) CLOSED from east of Scenic Avenue to west of Marion Avenue for up to 4 months during construction
- Detour: James River Freeway, Kansas Expressway, Chestnut Expressway, and U.S. Route 160
- Drivers are urged to use alternate routes during construction to avoid the work zone
- Electronic message boards and news releases will notify the public of traffic impacts
