Columbia Utility Work Project
A contractor working for MoDOT will be upgrading MoDOT fiber lines that connect traffic signals on state routes across the city. The upgrade will allow these signals to better communicate with each other. This will allow for improved signal timing and traffic flow. It will also help MoDOT respond in a timelier manner to signal issues, allowing crews to trouble shoot, monitor and make timing adjustments remotely in real time.
The contract was awarded to Meyer Electric, which submitted the low bid of $881,012.
Project Details
When: Crews will begin the week of June 22 on Route 740/Stadium Boulevard. The project is expected to be completed by the end of December.
Cost: $881,012
