RAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking public input regarding the replacement of the Missouri Route Z Bridge over Keeney Creek in Ray County. The bridge is currently in a one-lane configuration and limited to 25 tons until it can be replaced, MO Z bridge over Keeney Creek in Ray County will be reduced to one-lane, beginning July 15, 2025 | Missouri Department of Transportation The comment period opened at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26 and will remain open until 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9. The public is invited to leave questions and comments on the project webpage, Route Z Bridge Replacement in Ray County | Missouri Department of Transportation. A public meeting was held on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at the Orrick Community Center.
The bridge on Missouri Route Z over Keeney Creek approximately 1 mile south of Orrick in Ray County will be replaced. The existing bridge has reached the end of its service life.
Construction is anticipated to last approx. 5 months dependent on weather. The schedule will be set following the August 26 public meeting. MO Z will be closed to traffic over the bridge throughout construction and there will not be an official detour.
