MO Z bridge over Keeney Creek in Ray County will be reduced to one-lane, beginning July 15, 2025

The bridge will remain one lane until closed for replacement.

RAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will implement a one-lane bridge crossing at Missouri Route Z over Keeney Creek approximately 1 mile south of Orrick beginning on (approximately) 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15.  Due to the one-lane configuration, drivers headed in both directions will need to yield to oncoming traffic. There will also be a 25-ton weight limit on the bridge.

While safe to travel on the bridge has reached the end of its service life, this lane closure will be in place so that the bridge can remain open to traffic until the bridge is closed for replacement.

For details on the bridge replacement, visit, Route Z Bridge Replacement in Ray County | Missouri Department of Transportation. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
