TRAFFIC ALERT: Expect Nighttime Lane Closures on Route 66 (7th Street) in Joplin Beginning July 22

Where: Missouri Route 66 (7th Street) in Joplin between Maiden Lane and Loop 49 (Range Line Road)

When: Nightly 7 p.m.-7 a.m., Monday-Friday, July 22-26

What: Contractor crews inspecting manholes

Traffic Impacts:

  • Expect lane closures on Missouri Route 66 (7th Street) where crews are working
  • At least one Route 66 (7th Street) lane open in each direction
  • Drivers may experience some delays
  • Drivers are urged to use caution due to crews and equipment working close to traffic
  • All Route 66 (7th Street) lanes open to traffic during daytime hours
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zone
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes
  • No signed detours
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Details: This work is in advance of a project to make pavement, sidewalk, traffic and safety improvements along Missouri Route 66 (7th Street) in Joplin between Jasper County Route P (Schifferdecker Avenue) and Loop 49 (Range Line Road).
