Frequently Asked Questions:

Will Route 160 need to be closed for this project?

Most of the work to realign Route 160 will be done without the need to close the highway. However, near the end of the project, Route 160 will be closed for up to two (2) weeks while contractor crews connect the new segment of highway to the existing pavement.

Will there be a signed detour for this project?

No signed detour is planned. However, local traffic can avoid the work zone by using Dade County Route O.

Will there be a change in the speed limit once the project is completed?

Currently, the posted speed limit through the curve is 25 mph. Once completed, the posted speed limit will change to 55 mph.

Will any property be impacted?

The new construction will require acquisition of permanent right-of-way and temporary easements from four (4) property owners. Please review the exhibits for additional information. If you are impacted, MoDOT will be contacting you soon.
