Architectural Survey of 7th Street (Route 66) in Joplin Scheduled for July 11-15

Joplin – A consultant team will conduct an architectural survey along 7th Street (Missouri Route 66) between Schifferdecker Avenue (Route P) and Range Line Road (Business Loop 49) in Joplin from July 11-15, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

This work is in coordination with MoDOT’s upcoming project to rebuild 7th Street in coming years. The purpose of the architectural survey is to identify unique and/or historic structures so as not to adversely impact these structures with the upcoming project.

As part of this survey, all structures along the corridor will be photographed. The consultants will take all photographs from public right of way and will not enter private property.

Work to make improvements to 7th Street is tentatively scheduled for 2024 and 2025 at an estimated cost of $27.6 million.
