Bridge Rehabilitation
Planning Phase

The Cook Road Bridge over I-29 in St. Joseph was built in 1962 and carries approximately 6,500 vehicles per day. The driving surface of the bridge and its supporting structure needs to be replaced and its girders need painted to protect the bridge from deterioration. MoDOT has designed a project to complete this necessary work. The City of St. Joseph has also allocated funds to add decorative fencing, form liner, and a sidewalk to the south side of the bridge.
A construction contract was awarded to Clarkson Construction Company. Construction/bridge closure is tentatively planned to begin in June 2024.
