ST. JOSEPH, MO. – The scheduled closure of the bridge over Interstate 29 at Cook Road in St. Joseph has been delayed by two days. Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation now plan to close the bridge beginning Thursday, May 23, at 7 a.m. through Friday, May 24, at 8:30 a.m.
Crews will be completing concrete replacements on a portion of the bridge’s driving surface. The bridge must remain closed overnight to allow the concrete to cure. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route during the closure. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
A project to rehabilitate the Cook Road Bridge has been awarded to contractors from Clarkson Construction Company. The project is tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-June 2024. For more information visit: https://www.modot.org/interstate-29-bridge-rehabilitation-buchanan.
