The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace two Wayne County bridges—the Route A bridge over Small Creek near Greenville, Missouri, and the Route 34 bridge over Black River near Leeper, Missouri.

  • Route A in Wayne County will be closed as contractor crews replace the bridge over Small Creek. This section of roadway is located between U.S. Route 67 and County Road 400, south of Greenville, Missouri. Weather permitting, work will begin Friday, May 21, 2021 with completion anticipated Monday, Aug. 2, 2021. A signed detour will be in place. This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state. Learn more > 

  • Construction of the Route 34 bridge over Black River could begin as early as spring 2022, with completion anticipated by winter 2022. As work is underway, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge for approximately six months. The bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
