2020 Construction projects in the city of St. Louis

I-44 bridge improvements – This project improves the Jefferson bridge. The project starts in spring 2020 and will be completed in late 2020. A new driving surface on I-44 from Compton to I-55 will follow the bridge replacement and should be completed in spring 2021. 


I-44 resurfacing– This project resurfacing I-44 between Kingshighway and 39th Street after bridge improvements along the corridor.  Work is expected to be complete in spring 2020.


I-64 safety measures – This project places debris containment netting on several bridges between 14th Street and Tucker and from the MetroLink to Cerre. 


I-64 interchange improvements – This project makes improvements to the I-64 interchange with Jefferson and 22nd Street. Work is scheduled to be completed by spring 2022.


I-70 Bridge Improvements – This project improves seven mainline bridges from Goodfellow to Branch.  Drivers will have shifted lanes during the project.  Work is scheduled to be completed in 2020.


I-70 resurfacing – This project repairs, removes and replaces the driving surface from Union to Branch. Work will be finished in 2020.
Route 115 signal upgrades – This project updates signals on Route 115 (Natural Bridge Road) from Euclid to Parnell and Salisbury at  North Florissant. The project should be completed in summer 2020.


Route 115 pavement improvements – This project places a new surface on the roadway between the city limits and I-70. 


Route 180 pavement improvements – This project resurfaces Route 180 (Dr. Martin Luther King Drive) from the city limits to Page (Route D). The project begins in spring 2020 and will be completed later in the year. 


Route H Pavement Improvements – This project overlays the driving surface from Hall Street to I-270. It will replace the current center left turn lane with a raised median and maintain access to side streets.  The project will be complete in 2020.
