The Crawford County Route N bridge over Meramec River, southeast of Bourbon, is slated for deck replacement in 2027. Built in 1972, the supporting structures are in good condition, but the deck is in need of replacement. The new bridge deck will be 22-feet-wide, the same width as the existing structure.
Construction of a new bridge deck will require a full roadway closure. A signed detour will direct motorists to use Crawford County Route J, Crawford County Route C, Interstate 44, and Missouri Route 185.
The Missouri Department of Transportation Kansas City (MoDOT KC) will hold an open house style meeting to discuss the upcoming 291 River Bridge Design-Build Project. The southbound bridge was built in 2001 and is scheduled for improvements. This project will address the condition of the northbound bridge and provide maintenance on the southbound bridge.
