The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to rehabilitate the Route 76 bridge over Indian Creek in Douglas County. The bridge is located approximately 9.3 miles west of U.S. Route 60 near Willow Springs, Missouri.
The rehabilitation work could begin as early as March 2027 and includes replacing the deck and girders. During construction, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge for approximately three months. A signed detour will be in place utilizing Route 181 North, Route AM, U.S. 60 and Route 76.
Interstate 64 in this area has aged. Like the portion of interstate to the west between Spoede and Kingshighway completed in 2010, much of the roadway needs to be rebuilt to keep it in good working condition. This includes major work on nine bridges, including in both directions over Vandeventer. The eastbound interstate bridge has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced, while the westbound bridge is scheduled for significant rehabilitation. Plans currently include closing eastbound I-64 over Vandeventer for roughly a year to remove and replace the bridge, with rehabilitation work planned for the westbound bridge mostly after the eastbound work is complete. Traffic will be detoured onto city streets. Since the interstate over Vandeventer will be closed, and traffic detoured on Vandeventer and Forest Park Avenue, MoDOT also plans to work with partners to make improvements around the Grand interchange with eastbound I-64.

The public is invited to an informational meeting to learn about the conceptual study of U.S. Route 63 corridor improvements in Schuyler and Adair counties, located between the Iowa state line and Kirksville.
This study will evaluate transportation needs and potential improvement concepts for the corridor between the Missouri/Iowa state line and 2.1 miles north of Route KK south of Kirksville. This will include opportunities for passing lanes and/or shared four-lane and other roadway improvements within the 33-mile corridor.
