SIKESTON- To help the public understand more about upcoming improvements to Route B in Ste. Genevieve County, MoDOT will hold a public meeting. The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ste. Genevieve Community Center, 21390 Route 32.
The meeting will have an open-house format, so visitors can stop by to talk one-on-one with a member of the project team anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. No formal presentation will be given.
The project will involve resurfacing and shoulder improvements on Route B from Route 32 to Coffman, as well as replacing the River Aux Vases Bridge.
As the River Aux Vases Bridge is being replaced, it will be necessary to close the bridge for approximately 70 days.
"Based on the comments we received at the public hearing in May, we have outlined a schedule for the improvements that we would like to share," said Project Manager Andy Meyer. "We will also discuss impacts to adjacent properties."
The proposed schedule includes closing the River Aux Vases Bridge February through May 2010, provided that the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awards the project in January.
