Project Summary

The Harrison County U.S. Route 69 bridge over Zadie Branch was built in 1925 and carries approximately 390 vehicles per day. MoDOT and consultants from Olsson, in coordination with the Iowa Department of Transportation, are designing a project to replace the bridge, rebuild the approaches, install guardrail and pavement marking.

Public Input Opportunity
MoDOT will offer three opportunities to receive community feedback regarding the bridge replacement project.

1. A public open house meeting will be held on Thursday, April 9, from 4-6 p.m. at the Eagleville Community Center (10028 10th St., Eagleville, MO 64442) to discuss the project. 

2. View the information on this webpage and utilize the form at the bottom of the page to submit your comments and/or sign up for project-specific updates. 

3. Mail your comments to: Harrison County U.S. Route 69 Bridge Replacement Missouri Department of Transportation 3602 North Belt Highway St. Joseph, MO 64506.

All comments must be postmarked by April 23, 2026.

Contracting Letting & Award

Contractors may submit competitive bids during MoDOT's scheduled lettings. This project is scheduled to be included in the January 2027 letting. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission will consider all submitted bids at its scheduled monthly meeting in February 2027. If the lowest submitted bid meets all necessary criteria, the MHTC may award contracts at that time.

Q: What will the impact to traffic be?

A: The bridge will be closed during construction. A detour will be in place directing motorists to use Interstate 35, Route N in Eagleville, and U.S. Route 69 around the closure.
