MoDOT is planning on resurfacing US  Route 67 (Lindbergh Blvd.) from north of Missouri Bottom Rd. to south of I-270 in North St. Louis County.  As part of the project, MoDOT is planning on making improvements to the existing sidewalks to ensure the sidewalks meet Americans with Disabilities (ADA) requirements and will also be providing a new connection of sidewalk along southbound Route 67 from McDonnell Blvd. north to Chapel Ridge Dr.

Besides the resurfacing and sidewalk work, MoDOT will replace signing and four signals along the corridor including at Lindbergh Distribution Center, McDonnell Blvd., Fee Fee Hills Dr. and Utz Ln.  Lighting will also be upgraded as part of this project.

Lastly, the concrete pavement and inlets under the railroad bridge north of Missouri Bottom Rd. will be replaced.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the cost of the project?

The cost of the Route 67 project is $5.8 million.

Are new sidewalks being installed on the project?

Existing sidewalks are being upgraded to current standards to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.  In addition, sidewalks are being added to improve connectivity for all users through the addition of sidewalk along southbound Route 67 north of McDonnell Blvd. to Chapel Ridge Dr. and to connect into existing sidewalk along Utz Ln. running along its south side.

Will the project impact utilities?

Major impacts to overhead utilities are not expected on this project.  Minor adjustments to manholes and valves will occur prior to resurfacing.

Will lighting be upgraded along the corridor?

Lighting improvements will be made at the signalized intersections.

Will you be holding public meetings on this project?

MoDOT will not be holding a public meeting on this project to discuss potential improvements.  Proposed improvements are shown on the display on the website.

Will bus stops be upgraded on this job?

MoDOT coordinated with METRO to provide upgrades as part of this project.

Was a lane reduction/road diet considered on this stretch of Route 67?

MoDOT had a traffic analysis completed that showed a lane reduction could be considered. However, with the redevelopment of businesses in this area, a lane reduction will not be included on this project.  A lane reduction may be considered in the future dependent upon future traffic needs of the corridor.

What safety improvements are you making on this project?

We are upgrading ADA facilities; upgrading signals and lighting at existing signalized intersections including at Lindbergh Distribution Center, McDonnell Blvd., Fee Fee Hills Dr. and Utz Ln.;  resurfacing the roadway; replacing the concrete pavement and inlet tops underneath the railroad bridge north of Missouri Bottom Rd.; restriping including the use of continental striping for crosswalks; installing new sidewalk along southbound Route 67 north of McDonnell Blvd. and along the south side of Utz Ln.; improving the intersection of northbound Route 67 at Chapel Ridge Dr. through updated striping; replacing the signs along the corridor; installing Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) at signalized intersections to allow a pedestrian more time to walk prior to the signal turning green (for use at locations where you don’t have a right turn splitter island).
