Project Information

  • Build a new Route 160 culvert at Hamilton Creek, between Thurmond Avenue and Perryman in Ash Grove. The new culvert is a double 8-foot-by-4-foot concrete box
  • Proposed Route 160 width will be widened to accommodate 4-foot shoulders
  • The proposed culvert project will widen 10 feet each side of the existing road to accommodate shoulders and future pedestrian paths along the roadway

  • U.S. Route 160 CLOSED over Hamilton Creek up to 3 weeks during construction
  • Signed Detour: Main Street and Route F (Calhoun Avenue)
  • Short-term lane closures during construction

 Culvert Facts

  • Built in 1929
  • Old culvert 29 feet wide, 27 feet long, triple 5-foot-by-5-foot concrete box
  • Carries 2734 vehicles a day
  • The current culvert is in poor condition and is in need of frequent maintenance

Estimated Total Cost: $946,000

How long will Route 160 be closed during construction?

U.S. Route 160 will be CLOSED at the culvert for up to 3 weeks during construction. Detours for the project include Main Street and Route F (Calhoun Avenue).

Will I be able to get to business on either side of the culvert?

Drivers will have access to driveways and entrances on either end of the work zone, but will not be able to travel through the work zone.
