The Missouri Department of Transportation improved Route K in Reynolds and Iron Counties. Improvements extend from 2.5 miles east of Route 21 near Ellington, Missouri to 1.3 miles west of Route 49 near Annapolis, Missouri. Nine curves were improved along the project limits. The project included widening, adding edgeline rumble stripes and adding guardrail to one curve, as well as adding edgeline rumble stripes to eight other curves. Right of way acquisition was required at the curve widening location.

The project was completed in summer 2023.
