About the Project

Improvements will be made at various intersections on Missouri Route J.

Improvements are needed because of increasing traffic and the need for safety upgrades. While safe to travel on, a lot of the culverts and pipes along MO J are approaching the end of their service life.

The MO J safety improvement project includes:

  • Resurfacing from Route 58 south to I-49.
  • Constructing a southbound offset right turn lane at Lucy Webb Road.
  • Constructing a roundabout at the Hubach Hill Road intersection.
  • Widening the turning radii for the intersections at 195th Street and 203rd Street.
  • At 211th Street, constructing a southbound offset right turn lane and a northbound left turn lane, widening to provide clear zone requirements, eliminating guardrail, and replacing culverts.
  • Replacing crossroad pipes throughout the project limits.

Traffic Impacts

During construction, the intersection of Route J and Hubach Hill will be closed to construct the roundabout. Also, the intersection at Route J and 211th Street will be closed during the summer when school is not in session. The other improvements are planned to be done under flagging conditions and short weekend closures.
