Route 100 will be closed at the bridge for up to three and a half months during construction.
What is the purpose of the online meeting?
The purpose of the online meeting is to provide information on plans to replace the bridge over Shawnee Creek on Missouri Route 100 between Route Z and Route 89, approximately 1.1 mile northwest of Morrison.
Why is this work necessary?
The existing bridge over Shawnee Creek was built in 1947 and is seventy-two years old. The condition of the bridge has reached a point where a bridge replacement is necessary. The new bridge will be built at the elevation of the adjacent levee.
How will traffic be affected?
During construction Route 100 will be closed at the bridge location for up to three and a half months. Signs will alert motorists of the closed road. Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes around the construction.
When will the work take place?
The project is scheduled to be awarded in the spring of 2020, with construction taking place in 2020.
Will additional right of way be needed to construct this project?
Temporary Construction Easements will be required for the construction of the bridge.
What will the project cost?
The total construction cost is approximately $740,000.
