Frequently Asked Questions

Why are these bridges being replaced?

These two bridges were built in 1949 (Missouri Route 39) and 1953 (Cedar County Route N) and need to be replaced and redecked to meet today's design standards.

Is MoDOT purchasing property from landowners?

No right-of-way purchases are anticipated at this time.

Will I be able to access my property on Missouri Route 39 and Cedar County Route N?

Yes. All driveways and field entrances will be accessible; however drivers will not be able to drive through the work zones when bridges have been demolished and the new bridges are under construction.

Is MoDOT signing a detour around these bridges?

No, there will be no signed detour. Drivers should find alternate routes around the work zones.

Will these bridges be closed at the same time?

Likely, no. However, that will be up to the contractor’s schedule. Since these bridges are not on the same route, it is possible they could be closed together.

How long will each bridge be closed?

Each bridge will be closed for up to four (4) months.
