El Dorado Springs – The public is invited to participate in an in-person public meeting on Tuesday, August 25, to learn more about plans to make improvements to two bridges in Cedar County, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
One bridge is on Missouri Route 39 over Cedar Creek southeast of El Dorado Springs. The other is on Route N over the Big Sac River north of Stockton. The Route 39/Cedar Creek bridge will be replaced with a new wider and longer structure and the Route N/Big Sac River bridge will have its deck/driving surface replaced.
The in-person meeting will be held 4:30-6 p.m., Tuesday, August 25 at the El Dorado Springs Community Center, 135 W. Spring Street in El Dorado Springs.
A virtual (online) meeting will be available for two weeks from Tuesday, August 18 until Tuesday, September 1 and can be accessed at www.modot.org/southwest.
Traffic Impacts:
- Each bridge will be closed for up to four (4) months during construction.
- No signed detour is planned
- Access to property at either end of the bridges will be maintained, but drivers will not be able to drive through the work zone
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
Construction is expected to begin during the spring of 2027. The estimated cost of the project is $4.5 million.
Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could further alter the work schedule.
