ABOUT THE PROJECT
Details:
- This project will widen Missouri Route 291 from north Overton St. to just north of NE 104th Street.
- In addition to widening, curb and gutter and sidewalks/mixed use paths will be added to both sides of MO 291.
- Following construction, the speed limit on MO 291 from Overton St. to just north of NE 104th Street will be changed from 55 mph to 45 mph.
- This project will also make improvements at the intersection of Flintlock and MO 291, and 101st St.
- The purpose of this project is to add more capacity along MO 291 for increased traffic volumes and to enhance safety at each intersection.
- This project is in the conceptual design stage right now and is expected to have a letting date of October 2027 with construction beginning in Spring 2028.
Traffic Impacts:
- MO-291 will be closed to through traffic throughout construction from Flintlock Road to 104th Street during construction.
- During construction, 104th Street will be closed at Flintlock, but local traffic access will be maintained for homeowners.
