Project milestones
Crews will be replacing the Route T bridge over Interstate 70 beginning on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, until approximately mid-May 2023.
About this project
MoDOT will remove and replace the Route T bridge over Interstate 70 in Lafayette County. This bridge carries 500 vehicles a day. MoDOT decided to replace this 57-year-old bridge because of the age and condition of the structure.
MoDOT plans to begin construction in spring 2023 and run through fall 2023.
Traffic implications
Route T at the bridge will be closed during construction. Both lanes of I-70 in each direction will be open for the majority of the time. When the existing Route T bridge is to be removed I-70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction and will be traveling on the ramps, which is scheduled to be a couple of off-peak travel days. The I-70 ramps at Route T will be open, during the majority of the project and will only be closed to reconstruct the Route T and ramp intersections. Eastbound I-70 traffic wanting to go north on Route T can use the Route 13 interchange. Westbound I-70 traffic wanting to go south on Route T can use the Route 13 and the Route 23 interchanges.
