About the project

This project will remove and replace the Route K/EE bridge in Saline County. The existing bridge, which was constructed in 1961, is in poor condition and has reached the end of its service life.

Construction schedule

Construction will begin in the spring or summer of 2023.

Traffic impacts

This replacement will require the total closure of northbound and southbound Route K/EE over I-70 during this time. Additionally, I-70 will be reduced to one lane and diverted to the on and off ramps of Route EE/K beginning on Monday, May 1 at approximately 9 a.m. until Wednesday, May 3, at 6 am for bridge demolition. After the bridge removal, traffic on Route K/EE will have access to the I-70 ramps. The bridge will remain closed for the duration of the project. Eastbound and westbound I-70 traffic will be reduced to one lane at various times during the project. Motorists along Route K/EE will need to seek alternate routes during the closure.
